Hue IQ Privacy Policy

Hue IQ ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is created and operated by James Youngquist and Mad Science Software B.V.This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use it. By using Hue IQ, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Summary

Hue IQ is built to respect your privacy. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal information. Hue IQ analyzes garment colors to help you shop, and that analysis happens without us gathering data about you. The only place a third party may collect information is when you choose to follow an affiliate shopping link, which is explained in Section 3.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect personal information. Hue IQ does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, contact list, or location.

Photos. When you use Hue IQ to analyze a garment, image processing happens on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or retain your photos, and we do not have access to your camera roll beyond the image you choose to analyze in the moment.

3. Affiliate Links and Shopping

Hue IQ includes shopping features that use affiliate links provided through Sovrn Commerce (Sovrn, Inc.). When you tap a product link in the app, Sovrn may place a cookie or similar identifier on your device to track whether you visit a participating merchant and complete a purchase. This is how affiliate commissions are attributed.

Material connection disclosure (FTC). When you buy a product through a link in Hue IQ, we may earn a commission from the merchant at no additional cost to you. We include these links because they help support the app, not because we are paid to recommend any specific product.

Your choices. The data collected through affiliate links is governed by Sovrn's own privacy practices, not ours. You can review Sovrn's Privacy Policy and opt out of Sovrn Commerce tracking through their Privacy Center:

Any purchase you make happens on the merchant's website or app, which has its own privacy policy and terms.

4. Third-Party Services

Aside from Sovrn (described above), Hue IQ is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. These platforms may independently collect information such as download and crash data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

5. Children's Privacy

Hue IQ is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, this applies to all users.

6. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store your personal information, there is no personal data held by Mad Science Software B.V. for us to access, correct, or delete.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR, and if you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. For any data collected by Sovrn through affiliate links, please exercise those rights directly with Sovrn using the links in Section 3.

7. International Users

Mad Science Software B.V. is established in the Netherlands. Hue IQ is available internationally. Because we do not collect personal information, no personal data is transferred to or stored by us across borders.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
